MEMS Variable Optical Attenuators (VOA)
OE Photonics’ MEMS Variable optical attenuator (VOA) use the micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) principle of electrostatic driving mirror rotation to realize the high repetitive coupling between the input and output fiber. They are dynamic and continuous variable optical attenuators, which can be dark or bright state@0V.
Features
- ►Excellent MEMS durability, thermal stability, and repeatability
- ►Superior optical performance and low insertion loss
- ►Compact size
Applications
- ►Power equalization in multi-channel, optically amplified networks
- ►Gain-tilt control in erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs)
- ►Power control in narrowband wavelength division multiplexers (WDMs)
Main Specifications:
Notes:
1. The above test loss (IL) is based on the test results at 23℃ at the central wavelength ± 30nm. Multiband adds 0.2dB.
2. Repeatability is defined after 100 cycles.
3. Excluding connector, the insertion loss of connector is increased by 0.2dB.
